When not working on one of his many children’s books or some other illustration
project he is in much demand for portrait commissions and narrative type montage
portraits and montage theme paintings and
murals. In recent years, two of his paintings have been accepted into national
juried shows and another was accepted and published in a collection of the year’s
best science fiction and fantasy art known as “Spectrum V”. His work
was also highlighted in the Winter 1999 issue of the on-line art and literature
magazine, Sabine.
In 2002, Patrick began work on a series of paintings that are an attempt to
capture the spirit of the southern landscape and the unique people who live here.
He and his wife travel throughout the south seeking subjects for his work. It
is a difficult but rewarding challenge to be at the right place at the crucial
moment in time when the light and conditions come together to create artistic
poetry. He then returns to the studio and captures that special moment in oils
on canvas. Many of this series is available as Giclee
prints on canvas. They are the truest representations of his paintings possible.
Virtually indistinguishable from the originals.
